Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365) is designed primarily as an ecosystem rather than a suite of separate applications. As it continues to consolidate its position as the go-to ‘Service as a Subscription’ (SaaS) suite of office tools, so most SME’s will take advantage of its seamless email integration.

That being said, it is still possible to take advantage of email with Microsoft 365 as a standalone product, and at very affordable monthly subscription rates, should that be the right fit for your organisation.

A Note on Hosted Exchange

Hosted Exchange can sometimes be the best solution for SME’s with very specific needs – for instance those that, for whatever reason, still need to use personal office servers.

However, there is no getting away from the fact that, as a feature rich integrated solution, Microsoft 365 offers considerably better value than Hosted Exchange.
